Lovers of landscapes, photography and charming places have a wide range of options for finding incredible views on the Costa Brava. The rugged profile of this corner of the Catalan coast allows us to enjoy spectacular viewpoints that throughout history have led to the construction of various types of buildings, such as watchtowers, lighthouses and castles.

From Visita Costa Brava we propose this list with the top 10 spots with incredible views on the Costa Brava.

La Selva

In Blanes we find the Sant Joan castle, built on the hill of the same name. From this high point we can enjoy wonderful views over the town and distinguish emblematic points such as Sa Palomera, the Blanes beach or the port.

Continuing northwards we reach Tossa de Mar, a town dominated by its Vila Vella, a beautiful historical space crowned by the Tossa lighthouse. This is a magnificent spot to contemplate the town and all its natural surroundings from a privileged position. The area also has a bar where you can have a quiet drink while enjoying the view of the sea.

Baix Empordà

Moving on to the Baix Empordà, we come to s'Agaró. This municipality has one of the most photographed spots in the area, the S'Agaró viewpoint. It is located on the coastal path, and has a majestic structure in the shape of a small temple that gives it a very singular architecture. From here we can relax for a while with the splendid views of the sea that the area offers.

Continuing on to Llafranc, we find one of the must-see spots on the Costa Brava, the Sant Sebastià Lighthouse. This building stands 169 metres above the sea, with simply spectacular views. There are also two restaurants and the possibility of visiting other places of interest, such as the Tower of Sant Sebastià or the Iberian settlement.

The municipality of Begur also has an exceptional viewpoint, the Begur Castle , located on a very central hill. From here, we can enjoy a 360º view that allows us to see the whole town, its magnificent natural surroundings and the coastline.

We arrive at l'Estartit. From this pretty municipality located on the northern edge of Baix Empordà we can enjoy the Molinet, another of the splendid viewpoints that the Costa Brava has to offer. This spot is located between the sea and the cliff of Cap de la Barra, and offers unbeatable views of the sea and the Medes Islands. In summer, this location becomes the privileged setting for the l'Estartit Jazz Festival for a few days.

Alt Empordà

Just before reaching l'Escala we find Montgó, an urbanised area with a lovely beach and the viewpoint of the Montgó tower. This structure is located in an elevated area, and its origins date back to the 16th century in response to the need to establish coastal lookout points to guard against the threat of pirate and corsair raids. From here we can enjoy a beautiful view over l'Escala and its natural surroundings.

At the northern end of the bay of Roses we find the Visigothic Castrum of Puig Rom. Here there is a magnificent fortified enclosure from the Visigothic period, and a splendid viewpoint that allows us to dominate Roses and all its natural surroundings.

To fully experience the Cap de Creus landscape, we continue north towards Cadaqués. About 8 kilometres from the town centre is the Cap de Creus lighthouse, one of the most iconic buildings in this part of the Costa Brava. Due to its location, it is one of the most beautiful viewpoints we can find to contemplate the unique landscape of Cap de Creus. It is easy to reach by car or you can enjoy the experience to the full by walking from Cadaqués.

We finish this top 10 of the places with incredible views on the Costa Brava with the only point that requires a minimum level of physical fitness to reach. In the municipality of Port de la Selva we find the Castle of Verdera, an imposing structure located practically next to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes and rising 670 metres above sea level. This location makes Verdera Castle an exceptional vantage point from which to enjoy unparalleled panoramic views over the Empordà and the Eastern Pyrenees.
