This route was done by two people at the beginning of june, in a completely sunny day, we enjoyed an ideal weather for this type of routes. We never been to Begur and we were fascinated with the town centre, the views that offers its impressive castle and some of the natural landscapes that we visited and we will explain you now.
Beginning: from Blanes to Sa Riera
We start in Blanes (one our by car, more or less) and we arrive at 10:30 a.m. to Begur and make the most of the day. We went with the idea to enjoy a beach morning and then visit the town and its surroundings. We went with beach clothes but we had some another clothes for later.
So, we spend the morning on Sa Riera beach, located at the north, near the known Illa Roja beach. We enjoyed the sun and the calm waters of the area during all the morning. Round about 1 p.m. we had a shower and changed the clothes to take the car and go to the town centre and do a little bit of cultural tourism.
Historical centre and the castle
Walking through the narrow streets of the historical centre we knew all the charm the Begur has. The centre of the village is not big so in a short time it is seen. We also climbed to the castle, from where we had a privileged views of all the area. From the top you can see the historical centre, all the coastal area to Pals and l'Estartit in the distance, all the natural area of the forests that surounds the town, the numerous mountains in the distance and even some coves that we went later. Magnificient views that you will not stop photographing again and again. Before leaving the centre, about 3:30 p.m. we went to a restaurant called "Diferent". A modern local and with a privileged location where we tasted an excellent menu. We recommend it.
Coves: Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna
After having dinner and take the last walk through the historical centre, round about 5 p.m. we took the car and went to two coves: Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna. First we arrive to Aiguafreda, a cove without sand but with a big porch to sunbathe and put the feet in its crystalline waters. A precious place that without doubt will fascinate you and you will enjoy a total tranquility.
Finally, round about 7 p.m. we take the car another time to go to Sa Tuna, that is located near Aiguafreda (3 minutes by car). Also you can access walking from one cove to the other, but we took the car because after this cove we came back home. In Sa Tuna we enjoyed the last sunbeams before the sun hides behind Begur mountains and it was the place that we liked more. A beautiful space, a little cove with some houses at the background that form an idyllic landscape to take the best photographies of the day.
Round about 9 p.m., when the sunset, we took the car and came back to Blanes. We spend an incredible day in Begur area where we discovered marvelous places that we recommend going there without doubt and visit them. We also will repeat more than once in this places.
