Pedró Tower
The Pedró Tower is a tower located in the municipality of L'Escala declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest.
The tower was created between the 16th and 18th centuries with the function of defending the navigation and transportation of cereals to the mill. But it had other functions; it was used as a refuge for the poor and, in addition, from the tower you could see the fortified farm houses where visual signals were made to warn of the arrival of pirates.

The name of l'Escala is known in many corners of the world thanks to the excellence of one of its main industries, the anchovies salting. During your stay, you can visit one of its factories to observe the traditional process of making this product, as well as the anchovy and salt museum.
As well as enjoying beaches and coves such as Cala Montgó, Riells beach or Illa Mateua cove, in l'Escala you can also discover the gateway to the Iberian Peninsula of the Greek and Roman cultures by visiting the Archaeological Site of Empúries.
A few metres from the site is the medieval village of Sant Martí d'Empúries, another highly recommended visit during your stay in l'Escala.
