Castle of Cinc Claus
The Castle of Cinc Claus is located in the neighborhood of the same name, in the municipality of l'Escala.
The construction of the castle took place during the 14th century, on the remains of an ancient Roman villa. In 1640, in the context of the War of the Reapers, the castle was destroyed by soldiers of Philip IV of Castilla.
During the 17th century, the remains of the castle were integrated into the structure of the Concas, Piferrer, and Bassedes farmhouses during their construction process. The structural elements of the Castle of Cinc Claus that have survived to this day correspond to a gate and a tower of the wall.
